6) Zac Brown—“Toes”Before he became a bona fide country star with his hit, “Chicken Fried,” Georgia-native Zac Brown led a double life both performing, recording,
and touring with the Zac Brown Band and also as a chef at a restaurant he owned with his father. Zac has since sold off the restaurant but he still
continues to cook up a storm on the guitar, and his opening riff on “Toes” from The Foundation is a good example. Based on common open-string
chords, the riff is trickier than you might think. Use your fingers to pluck the notes with the thumb reserved for the bass notes and be sure to bring
out the accents (indicated by the > sign). Look for the exclusive full TAB for this song in our next issue.
